Campus Moving Services Overview

Services

• Relocation of office furniture, lab equipment, fine arts, and other items within the University community
• Furniture assembly
• Refuse dumping
• Miscellaneous moving services, i.e., pallets of paper or brochures, etc.
• Cost estimates and consultations
• e-Waste Recycling Removal

Estimates

At your request, staff from Receiving Services will arrange with your department for advance assessment of the move and provide a rough estimate of the costs.

Moving Services Recharge Rates (Effective July 1, 2001)

• One person - $57.00 per hour
• Additional person - $43.00 per hour
• Larger jobs - Supplemental labor will be provided. Rates will vary, depending upon the source (i.e., Spherion, etc.)
• Minimum charge - 1/2 hour
• Minimum landfill charge - 1 hour (Note: Landfill charge is for labor only; refuse charges are levied separately by the Santa Cruz City Landfill and included in your billing.)

Accounting: Charge all moves to account code 001290.

Forms: Email receptionist@bookstore.ucsc.edu to receive the SC-15 recharge form.

Scheduling: Please allow as much lead time as possible in advance of your move so that we may avoid scheduling conflicts. Move requests are scheduled on a "first-come, first-served" basis; however, we try to accommodate "short notice" move when requested.
