Shipping Overview

Summary: Before you ship a package, review this page to find out about UCSC shipping services.

Receiving Services provides daily service for domestic and foreign shipments.

The majority of outgoing shipments from UCSC are made via UPS. Packages shipped via UPS are automatically insured for $100. State the value of the item(s) to be shipped and Receiving Services will insure your shipment appropriately.

Submit a Shipping Memo to request any of the following services:

• For incidental shipments made by campus units, i.e. warranty items, repairs, replacements, rental returns, etc., service is provided free by Receiving Services.
• Overnight shipping is available, and payment is required.
• For international shipments all customs documentation must be provided by the department. International shipments of scientific equipment must by authorized by Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S).
• For units who make regularly planned or bulk shipments, payment is required.
